This place was recommended by a local who was born and raised in the area (my favorite places). She recommended the Garlic Furikake Chicken plate, so we got that along with Pork Adobo before heading to the airport. It was kind of a buried treasure, as it was a little hard to find in an industrial strip mall-like area. The food was excellent though – we really enjoyed the chicken as well as the tuna macaroni salad side. Be sure to add the Chili Peppa Watah saice to the pork if you like Carolina-style vinegar sauce.

Excellent stop! Really enjoyed the Serrano (yes, the pepper – had some kick) as well as the coconut, ginger, turmeric and lemongrass. Very unique and very tasty!

Great little surprise stop on a rainy day. Average atmosphere almost resembling an older diner, but the food was great. Enjoyed the extras the most – first the fried cream biscuit with jelly and topping off the meal with a macadamia nut dessert. They were both delicious! Of course the rest of the meal was great also – but I love the sweets and that is what I’ll remember…

Love the atmosphere and wasn’t very hungry, so had the caprese and its excellent! My wife had the pork nachos, which were also very good.!

Have been here several times and always enjoy it. Tonight I ordered the grilled shrimp papaya salad. Although it was good, I did detect a bit of a fishy taste in the dressing and was a bit disappointed in the lack of spiciness, given that it was marked as “native spiciness / 3 peppers”, which is the spiciest shown on the menu.
I enjoy spicy and have also visited the Lemongrass Café in downtown Moline. There, I order “Hot” (2nd highest on their scale) and it is much spicier than here at Exotic Thai. My bottom line is that both serve great food. If you are looking for a higher-end / professional atmosphere with a bit more privacy from other guests, choose Exotic Thai. If you are looking for spicier food in a tighter and less private seating arrangement (many more tables that are much closer together) that strikes me as more authentic (Thai lady who appears to be the owner waiting tables and making suggestions), choose Lemongrass Café downtown.
Oh yeah…one more thing. If you have a sweet tooth like me, you can’t get any dessert at Lemongrass Café, so will have to stop at Whitey’s for ice cream afterwards (I did just that last night). I just finished a delicious banana crepe here at Exotic Thai!

I have eaten here 3-4 times while visiting on business and have loved every meal. I like cilantro and lime, and have really enjoyed green papaya salads and coconut soups. Based on that, the waiter recommend khao soi, an authentic northern Thailand curry noodle dish – with 3 peppers (native spiciness) and absolutely loved it!

Had the spicy tuna roll – it was ok. The banana spring roll and coconut pineapple ice cream was great, so added a star to my rating. The service was average.

Came in at opening time on Saturday and ordered the Piglet to try pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket. Assumed it would come separate to try them each separately, but they were all small pieces and scrambled together on the bun. That said, it tasted great, was on a high quality bun, the fries had a crispy coating and tasted great and the Hogs Breath sauce was a perfect compliment. We love Parrots Kay, but it was closed, so we tried this place and are glad we stopped.

Bison Meatballs were delicious! We enjoyed them as an appetizer before our pizza and would highly recommend them.

The bread plate was excellent, as was the ‘special’ pizza. The BLT was ok, but not one of my favorites.

Update: drove by in December 2022 and it is CLOSED Original: 5/31/2015
Very convenient to I94 to get off and on. The cashier recommended the gyro as their best seller and it tasted excellent. The fries were thick-cut and the seasoning was good. Service was poor, as we waited for over 25 minutes for our food and it wasn’t that busy.
As to the atmosphere it was a dive and in a sketchy neighborhood – having a bit of a true south side of Chicago feel that was borderline for comfort with my family, even on Sunday afternoon. The clientele made a fairly major turnover while we waited for our food – with several college-aged boys leaving after they started eating. We ate rather quickly and left. On the walk back to our car, my son and I were propositioned by a couple of ladies driving out of the parking lot after they nearly ran us over.
Would I go back – yes if during the day and I wasn’t alone (gyro was great) and no if dusk or later…

Stopped over for dinner with our sons and daughter-in-law. The guacamole with our chips before the meal was great, as was the pitcher of strawberry / banana margaritas. My wife and I shared a single flaming cheese fajita plate that was delicious, but was all we could handle for both of us to finish. We were disappointed with the speed of the service, but it was Friday night and all the tables were full, with others waiting to be seated soon after we were.

Loved their breakfast bagels with choice of cheese, sauce and vegetables. I had the 9-grain, which included flax seed and chia seed – delicious. Just as good as the big names in Minneapolis, but right here in Sioux Falls! Busy place Saturday morning, but if you like bagels and a great cup of coffee, you’ll want to stop here!

Had reservations for dinner before the UND / UW hockey game. The oil for the bread was great but didn’t particularly care for the bread that was served with it. All of the meals that our group of 8 had were fantastic though and we really enjoyed the meal (and the bottles of wine…).

Good, basic thin crust pizza. Liked the nachos the best. Food quality was ok for a pizza joint, but the plastic utensils and foam plates held me back from rating it any higher…

Busy night of takeout, so we waited about 30 minutes for our pizzas, but they were great. Had a pepperoni and made our own chicken-bacon-ranch.

Atmosphere was average and per several other Yelper’s reviews, the food was also average. I enjoyed the Japanese vegetable wrap as well as the homemade key lime pie. The Chicken Parmesan that my son ordered was average and the marinara sauce was skimpy – leaving it quite dry (although our waitress was happy to bring us another cup, which caused our son to finish his meal after first saying he was done). Prices were reasonable for our family of 6 with 4 teenage boys.

Seared ahi tuna tacos are Wonderful! My wife had them and loved them – and I sampled and also enjoyed. We caught the end of Happy Hour and stayed for dinner. The made-daily fresh pico de gallo was good, but the oregano seasoning took some getting used to…

Ordered the Island Combo Basket (grilled) over rice with black beans and brought it back to the hotel room. The aroma in the car was great and the food was even better. The only thing that prevents a 5* rating in my book is the paper plates and plastic utensils.

Great cozy atmosphere in an ‘out of the way’ restaurant with better than average pub food, a nice domestic draught Happy Hour and great service by a friendly waitress – Lacey. We ordered the Coconut Onion Rings (recommended by another Yelper) and enjoyed them. We liked the crab and cream cheese – stuffed Jalapeno Poppers even better (nice spicy bite, softened by the sweet dip). For dinner, we had the catch of the day (hog fish – blackened) along with a sampler that included shrimp and mahi mahi – all of the fish was excellent. To top it off, we ordered a slice of key lime pie as well as a slice of peanut butter pie – Wow, were they great – and with a great presentation!
Overall, a great stop on our way to Key West for family vacation!
